### What is a sandwich panel?

It is a panel made of two metal sheets with an insulating core between them. It works as a roof and as insulation at once: it keeps out the rain and holds back the sun’s heat better than a single sheet or fabric. That is why it stays cooler under a sandwich panel roof in summer.

### What does freestanding mean?

The pergola stands on its own posts and does not lean on the facade. So it can go in the middle of the garden, beside the pool or over a parking area where there is no wall. With up to 6 × 6 m and no middle posts, nothing gets in the way underneath.
