How much does frameless sliding glass cost?

What are the drawbacks of sliding glass?
When open, the panels stay overlapped inside the opening, so part of the width is still taken by glass. If you want the opening completely clear, a glass curtain that stacks to one side is the better fit.
What types of sliding glass are there?
